School Board 2009-2010

Don Walters   Don Walters
Board President
At Three Rivers Christian School we can prepare our students for what lies ahead of them without all the distractions of the latest popular idea or fad. We offer a Christ-centered, Bible-based education, which means that what was wrong yesterday, is wrong today and will be tomorrow. But also, what was right is still right and will be tomorrow. God's Word is the best foundation we have to build a life on and that is what we strive to do. One day, all students grow up and take their place in society. As long as we have that student here, we will prepare him/her to not only be a contributing part of society, but to be a Christian role model to others.

I have been an active member of Northlake Baptist Church since 1978. I was on the school board previously for nine years.   I have been a grandparent to the sixth grade class for the past five years and do volunteer work in the classroom.  I strive to serve the Lord wherever He leads me; and will do my best to serve you on the board.

Although my three children have graduated from TRCS and have reaped the blessing of the quality Christian education it provides, I am serving on the board to ensure this opportunity for future generations.  I strongly believe Christian schools provide an additional foundation along side the family for teaching God’s principles and love.

I believe that every educational subject from math and science to literature and history can be taught from a Christian world view.  In the multicultural milieu that exists in our society today I believe it is important that Christians have a clear understanding of their purpose for life based on the truth of God’s word.  I am glad to serve a school that provides this kind of firm foundation.

I have 3 children attending TRCS, and am pleased with their experience.  Having a vibrant, nurturing, and academically strong Christian school is an asset to our region.  By serving on the board, it is my hope to offer helpful insight as a parent and community member, seeking to discern God’s direction for the school.

As host pastor, I am thrilled at the caliber of ministry we carry on each day in the name of our Lord Jesus!  What a profound impact we are making on the lives of literally thousands of people in our region!  The quality of our staff and administration, and the freedom to teach and proclaim the full truth of our creator and the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ make this a ministry of eternal impact.  Praise God for TRCS!

I wanted to serve on the School Board to glorify the Lord. Working with children daily as a bus driver for the Kelso School District made me more aware of God's precious ones, so being involved with the students emotionally and physically, I asked how could I be involved spirtually? I want to do the work the Lord has laid before me. My prayer is to glorify my Saviour in this means, and to be used wherevever by whomever and whatever is needed. May God Be The Glory!!!!
